We are seeking a Kitchen Porter to support our cooking staff in maintaining cleanliness and organisation in our kitchen, ensuring it operates at the highest standards.
Job Description
As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our kitchen by keeping it clean, organised, and sanitised. Your contribution will be vital in upholding our high standards of hygiene and efficiency. We are looking for applicants who thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment and experience is essential for this role due to the dynamic nature of the job.
Responsibilities
- Keep all kitchen work surfaces, including counters, sinks, stoves, and walls, clean and sanitised.
- Sweep and mop floors throughout your shift to maintain cleanliness.
- Be vigilant in cleaning up promptly to avoid disruption to kitchen operations.
- Arrange equipment and ingredient deliveries as needed.
- Maintain organisation in food and supply storage areas.
- Dispose of garbage and break down cardboard for appropriate disposal.
Assist with routine food prep tasks, such as peeling and chopping vegetables,
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential due to the fast-paced nature of the environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Strong work ethic and dedication to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Willingness to hand wash utensils and cookware.
- Work well within a team, and with your own initiative.
- Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.
