FAMILY-RUN BUSINESS
Nick Kleiner the founder of Sandwich Sandwich has, for at least 20 years, been a successful self-taught chef managing restaurants and wine bars both in London (Maida Vale) and more recently in Bristol.
Approximately 11 years ago, Nick decided to diversify away from a traditional restaurant offering into making quality snacks and sandwiches and effectively gave birth to Sandwich Sandwich.
From a tiny kiosk which proved to be very successful in Cotham, Sandwich Sandwich now sees its Bristol flagship store based in Baldwin Street. This was opened approximately 18 months ago, and regularly sees long queues of customers wanting to sample the wonderful array of homemade sandwiches and other excellent produce.
Nick was joined by his youngest son, Josh, approximately 6 years ago and more recently by his other son, Izzy. Josh, whilst assisting Nick in the operations and creation of products also heads up the marketing push for the business and, in particular, the social media activities taking the Instagram from 1,300 followers to over 100,000. Izzy is an accountancy graduate who is intending to gain experience to head up the financial team of the business over the coming months. Nick’s wife, Anita, has in the past and continues to help with product development.

OUR TIMELINE
Now were getting into the juicy details… were not yolking. In 2014 our famous scotch egg was created. A soft boiled egg surrounded by the finest quality pork. Our secret crumb is what sets it out from the rest. 12 different herbs and spices make up this incredible coating. Where can you find the recipe? Well unfortunately its hidden behind a maximum security vault in the Bristol City centre.
In 2015 Sandwich Sandwich naturally diversified into the world of office catering! Over the last 6 years we have steadily built up a large portfolio of customers and businesses who enjoy our lunch platters and sandwiches on a daily basis.
Congratulations to our teams at Sandwich Sandwich as we were named the Uber Eats Restaurant of the year in 2023 and awarded the prize of £100,000. Which we plan to invest in our expansion plans for the future!
